Showdown

Liverpool v Man United When Liverpool lost 3-0 at Old Trafford in mid-December to leave them 10 points behind their fiercest rivals Manchester United, it appeared simply the continuation of a woeful start to the campaign for last season’s Premier League runners-up. Yet it was to prove the turning point in a phenomenal return to form that means they go into Sunday’s return match at Anfield with the chance to overhaul United in the standings and assume a place in the top-four for the first time this season. Under closer observation, a 3-0 scoreline at Old Trafford had failed to reflect what took place on the pitch. He's a key player and he's in great form." Taylor added: "He's had problems with injuries which he couldn't have helped, like when he got smashed in Andorra. Allen has just over two years left on his current Liverpool deal but revealed he has opened talks with the club. Read more: BBC Sport .

LFC Mr. Versatile - Emre Can

Emre Can. In recent months, Emre Can has started to show exactly why Brendan Rodgers signed him. His performance in midweek against Bolton was excellent and that is just one performance out of many but can he really become an important part of Liverpool’s defense? - KickSocca Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has cited Emre Can as a prime example of how his philosophy of developing players is working at Anfield. The Reds boss signed Can for £10million from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, but believes that he will be worth much more in the future. - Daily Mail Online The Germany Under-21s international produced another outstanding display in Wednesday night’s dramatic 2-1 win over Bolton in the FA Cup. Can, who has shone in a defensive role in recent months, was pushed into midfield as the Reds chased the game late on. - Liverpool Echo
